About the Author
Brent A. Peterson
Brent first became familiar with William Wesley Bennett in 1975 at the age of 12. From 1990 until 2011, Brent listened to Bill share first-hand accounts of his time with Company D, 2nd Battalion, 18th Marine Regiment. In 2014, Brent began a +4,000 hour project of researching the incredible, almost impossible to believe, stories of Bill's life. From recently declassified Navy documents to personal letters stored for over 75 years, Brent slowly rebuilt the remarkable details of this amazing man's life, A story of God's faithfulness to Bill and Bill's faithfulness to God emerged from the effort.
Brent is a lifelong student of military history, specializing in World War II. He has worked from coast to coast within the United States and traveled extensively in Japan. He has earned AMA certificates in communication and negotiation and arranged international business deals.
Brent has been involved in many facets of Christian ministry throughout life and loves to encourage others to invest their lives in the things that have lasting value.
About the Editor
Belle Sands-Peterson
Belle has had a servant's heart since her childhood days, including when she was a Girl Scout to high school when she volunteered as a Candy Striper at a local hospital serving and helping patients. She started teaching Sunday School class in the mid-1970s at the church where she later met Brent. They married and worked together and individually in various departments of the church, including the nursery and with teens.
Belle contributed countless hours assisting on the Once Upon a Lifetime project during a very challenging time in her own life. She refined Brent's writing again and again until it was ready for others to read. Without her support and assistance, this book would not have been finished, and that is a fact.
Brent and Belle have four grown children and a 17-year-old Jack Russell Terrier named Reilly.
